I LOOOOVE the danger, anonymity, colors, styles, talent, and social messages that street and graffiti art shows us! It has a history dating from little Roman hooligans tagging their ancient stone villas, to the 60s when colorful hippie stencils were flower power’ing NY, to the amazingly intricate graffiti known today. Once considered a nuisance, this art form is finally showing its legs of legitimacy and artist are now turning into graffiti-celebrities commissioned to paint everything from homes, boats, gallery art, to snails (see below!).
Now, these accessories may not be the best mother-in-law gift ideas, but they are great ways to add just a touch of street art to the indoors… and this certainly makes me a little (spray can) trigger happy to add a bit of urban punch to my home : )
I’m in love with this yellow, graffiti-inspired frame from Luis Alicandu.
